Your Rebirth Story
Hello,
We are deep in Pisces’ waters. Soaking in them. Swimming in our seas of shared experience. Swimming in sensitivity. Diving into the undercurrents of eclipses and retrogrades and getting washed in the overflow. Feeling out of body and out of this world. Feeling so much!
We’re waking up. Our souls are stirring, offering us to the unknown. Preparing to plunge headfirst into Pisces’ pointy end and rebirth into Aries where a brand new chapter unfolds. A brave new day and a bold new astrological year. A year of cyclic switches when major planets change sign, energetically resetting our programming.
We’re at the beginning of our rebirth story.
Have you considered a rebirth plan? Will you come prepared or will you let your instincts guide you? How do you cope with threshold moments? Those times when you pass from one period of life to the next. Do you cross over full of excitement and curiosity? Or do you prefer to go slow, taking time to adjust and fully feel into your new surroundings? Look to your Ascendant (aka your rising sign) for clues. This energy describes how you meet new situations and how you take them in. How you lead your life.
Hold space for whatever feels natural for you. There’s no right or wrong response here. We’re aiming for a successful delivery and you’ve been working towards this for years.
Trust your planetary support team has your back.
Your Vulnerability Hangover
In Pisces times we let go. The veil weakens, our grip loosens, allowing full access to our most tender parts. Consider yourself in a peak Pisces period.
As I write we have the Sun, Saturn, the North Node and Neptune clustered together across the latest, most final degrees of Pisces. Positioned for big life lessons, we’re in a huge contraction phase, tying up teachings on self-doubt, self-sabotage and sensitivity, our struggles around our ideals matching our reality, and victim mentality.
In which area of your life do you most waver? Where do you need regular faith maintenance checks? Check your birth chart for the Pisces symbol. That’s two fish tied together swimming in different directions. One aiming for the heavens and the other bound to the ground.
This is where your vulnerability hangover is happening.
This is where in your heart of hearts you yearn to make the imagined real. Where you have brilliant ideas and the highest hopes and desperately want to deliver ~ or be delivered and have it all happen for you ~ but uncertainty and feelings of futility kick in.
This is where you’re doing the necessary, hard soul work of releasing that shit so you can instead let spirit in. Spirit is your doula. Whatever spirit means to you ~ your guides, the divine, your higher self ~ be open to her wisdom.
Here you are most open to suggestion so let that suggestion be a good one.
Here’s where you want to stay true to your ideals and come back to your original intention. Putting the practical steps in place and applying your best effort to see your vision to fruition.
In this final Pisces phase your intuitive higher self is trying to reach you and collaborate with you. Your higher self is entirely invested in supporting you. Offering a firm presence, a soft touch, whatever help you need to fully deliver your dreams.
Pressing Pause
To be sure our minds and hearts are completely aligned before we transition and rebirth into Aries, the cosmos has created the perfect reset for us. A Venus and Mercury retrograde.
Venus and Mercury had already awakened in Aries, fanning their flames, loved up and switched on. Then Venus began to re-evaluate and started her 40-day retrograde on 2 March. Just today Mercury follows with a 21-day rethink.
Ideally, your Venus knows exactly what she wants. She incarnated fully formed, full of her worth, sure about her preferences and supremely confident of her value. She feels very personal to us. Like Venus’ hand mirror symbol, you don’t get more personal than what you reflect back to yourself ~ self-love and your loves, so what you appreciate and adore.
Where are you all over yourself, or could be more in love with yourself?
Your Personal Love Retreat
How can this Venus Retrograde love retreat help you? An instinctual, actionable, self-initiated and self-directed self-love retreat in feisty, confident Aries and finishing in soft, gentle Pisces.
You could spend your 40 days and nights exploring all the ways you feel potent, vibrant and alive, proactively seeking experiences that ignite and excite you. Finding your sweet spot, examining the kind of love you like and very much don’t like. Spending time learning your power of attraction too, and how you can use yours to get what you want.
When we think of love as an action, rather than a feeling, we become responsible for our part in our self-love story.
You could give yourself the love you dream about. Aware that you want to be received wholly and unconditionally but sadly don’t even love yourself like that. So you’ll practice self-compassion, holding your own hand while contemplating how amazing it would feel to openly and honestly accept your whole self.*
Afterwards, you’ll be so enamoured with who you’ve become that you’ll put your desires out there and break up with shy you, the version that finds it easier living in lack rather than risking what pleasure could bring.
Love is action, not a state we wait in vain for. Self-love and strong self-worth require our attention. Let Venus remind you it’s not a privilege to experience love or self-love, it’s your right, and she won’t lie around for long.
* We aim for this when Venus retreats into Pisces from 27 March until 11 April (after then it turns direct).
A Mindful Timeout
When a Mercury retreat in Aries and Pisces is planned, there’s good reason for it. We’re not meant to be switched on all the time. We need a break to get our heads straight and plan our next moves, our next daring act.
Spending quality time strategising is a great next move. Even though our thinking and communicative function is technically in repose, we’re still mentally motivated. But rather than rashly acting out our intentions, it’s time to contemplate them and carefully think them through.
Mercury gets into your mind and its retrogrades get us talking to ourselves so put the winged messenger to use and let him help you find your words. In Aries that speech can be pretty direct so if you’ve got something to say that will have an impact, try a few practice runs before you speak out loud.
What do your instincts tell you?
Mercury in Aries responds quickly. Random thought eruptions (aka ideas) arrive when you need them. This is brilliant when you’re acting on the spot but do you really have to rush right now? My gut tells me you still have some thinking to do. You’re better to slow down and take it all in, from every angle, before you decide anything. Mercury in Pisces* will allow you space to rest. Contemplate, get poetic, dream and reflect.
We want to move forward so badly, but sometimes we need to travel back and retrieve what was missed or we didn’t completely comprehend before we can make our way forward with the understanding we need.
Wherever Pisces and Aries live in your birth chart we’re talking about endings (Pisces) and beginnings (Aries). Venus and Mercury retreating in unison is a golden opportunity to reflect on a love story that is finishing and a powerful new chapter that’s building.
* On 30 March Mercury will retreat into Pisces until 6 April, when it will turn direct.
Finding Your Flow State
I hope you don’t have an aversion to water because now we shift out of our heads and get our feet wet. We enter the birthing pool.
Earlier this year on 12 January the nodal needle shifted from the Aries~Libra axis to Pisces~Virgo. For 18 months we’ll feel the magnetic pull of the Virgo South Node and the Pisces North Node.
The Nodes aren’t a ‘thing’, a planet or a body of energy in space. They symbolise where the Moon’s orbit around the Earth intersects with the flat plane of the Earth’s orbit around the Sun. Too complicated? Just remember the Sun~Moon~Earth and that the Nodes weave between them. The Nodal end that faces up is the North Node and the end that faces down is the South Node.
In our birth chart the South Node is what we know. Its qualities are superpowers we incarnated for this lifetime because we’ve worked on them, possibly for lifetimes. It’s so easy to rely on them, sometimes too easy, and as we get older we feel compelled to grow and expand. But towards the North Node…we’re not so sure. Embodying its qualities is challenging and we resist the pull, but when we loosen our grip and confront its potential the Sun lights us up like a blast to our real self. We just have to surrender to the idea of going there and be super conscious about it.
Really important to remember is that the Nodes in your birth chart tell us about your personal soul growth but the shifting Nodes point to our collective growth ~ we’re feeling our way through this watery space together.
The Pisces North Node end of the birth pool calls for compassion and full-hearted feeling responses.
We can most certainly draw on the critical care of the Virgo South Node but we want to do it from a place of love, respectfully honouring our wisdom and serving ourselves with the greatest intention.
Pisces connects us with spirit, bringing magic into our lives in a beautiful, soulful way. But it can also be deceiving and boundaries are essential because we can wrap ourselves in idealism and idealistic outcomes. What we think is a thought made from perfect clarity, with utmost certainty, may not be so. Watch out for manipulators and tricking yourself. If something doesn’t feel right, it may not be so. Find sacred spaces that are clean and clear. Not controlling or judgy, or so pure we can’t live up to ourselves.
When we accept we have faults and fears and all make mistakes, we’re on our way. The Pisces North Node forgives and forgets. Ooof, that’s a hard one. That’s the challenge, to find what feels hard and go there.
That is our growth place, where we finally unfold and everything flows as it was designed to.
Your Virgo Full Moon &
Lunar Eclipse
We’re in the final growth stretch. Trying to find calm in unlikely places. Because this is the point where our story shifts. We’re in deep now, heading for the birth canal, and to push through our mindset needs to change.
Whatever vision or idea of perfection you’re trying to control, let that be your drishti point, the spot you focus on and direct your attention. Allow your mind’s eye to go there and take it in. Crawl inside and get sticky, feel your way around. There’s no light to guide you or distract you. The lunar eclipse has taken care of that. It’s just us and our very big feelings and our busy, worrying mind and we don’t like it one bit.
Nothing is absolute, or absolute perfection.
Fully digest this. And release it. Get it out of your system. This crazy idea of achieving perfection isn’t serving you and is unravelling all the good work you’ve done. Those thoughts come from fear and when we’re frightened we control, we micromanage our experience. We become finicky and precious, focussing on the littlest thing when the big picture is calling. The biggest picture of all. LIFE. You have a life, go live it!
Adjusting and readjusting is your coping mechanism when you don’t know what to do. When we’re uncertain about our next move, our good friend Carl Jung tells us to put one foot in front of the other. Just do the next right thing. The next right thing for you. Each step will build on itself, taking you where you need to go. Uncertainty is frightening but nothing is certain and this is the magic of living. If we give in to it, there will be chaos all round. That is Virgo and Pisces not doing well.
But you’re stronger than that. You have access to the wonderful expressions both of these signs offer. You can create order around you, calmly and mindfully, serving your best self because you want to and it brings you pleasure. Investing in your most constructive thinking and helpful practices. Giving yourself space and ease to digest your concerns, fully feeling and metabolising them. Talking about them, writing them out if it helps. Letting your nervous system catch up, settle, find its rhythm and regulate.
This Full Moon and eclipse energy is so much about attitudinal shifts and breaking up with old, control-based thought patterns that are keeping us closed. Meditate on it. Note where you shut off and shut out new experiences. It will be illuminating. This Full Moon gives you an opportunity to see this. You are so supported to begin liberating yourself from that thinking, if you are open to it.
The Pisces North Node is our greatest ally, reminding us that the softer we are ~ the more gently we hold ourselves ~ the more easeful our opening will be.
This revelation is really all we need to hear. We’re feeling our way through lifetimes and digesting these experiences can be intense. Sometimes the simplest knowledge is the best preparation for us.
(FYI, the Virgo Full Moon will be at its fullest on 14 March at 5.54pm on Australia’s east coast and 6.54am in the UK, and on 13 March at 11.54pm on the US West coast. We’ll feel the emotional effects for a few days. If it’s affecting your chart in a big way ~ like for me and my Virgo, Gemini, Sag and Pisces people ~ we might be processing this for a while…)
Actioning Your Vision
This is your story now, you rebirth from here. On 21 March the Sun will shine in Aries. The very first degree of the new zodiacal year. This is your brave new day, when your archetypal Spring begins.
Wherever Aries lives in you, there’s something potent seeding, healing and feeling its way, wanting to be birthed into consciousness. It’s such a starter energy. Fully invested in itself because like the seed it germinates from it has to be focussed 100% on a singular intention. When Aries rises, allow it to awaken you and take yourself on, doing the thing, actioning the plan, getting life done.
Right now we’re feeling the last gasps of Neptune’s 11 years in Pisces. You meditated, got mystical and found your magic and now your spirit is either exhausted or excited depending on the waters you’ve been floating on. If you’re feeling lost or confused, Neptune’s shift into Aries on 30 March feels like it will be the bridge of confidence you need to shift out of your metaphorical womb. Saturn’s meet up with Neptune in May will be another momentous leg up. Progressing from water to fire, things will get hot, enabling you to alchemise your visions into reality.
Here’s where you embolden the ethereal. Igniting your fantasies with fire to survive.
I will leave you with a dream I had recently. My dreams have been wild lately and every morning I write them down. I kid you not I had this dream hours before Venus went retrograde on 3 March (I got up at 2.40am so I know the time!).
I dreamt of a five-pointed star, but I was only living in one of its points. It was getting crowded in there and I realised I was cramming too much into my space. I was vaguely aware of more space further behind me but I could only focus on my area. I thought I could only live in one section of the star. My area was golden ~ it had a lovely golden hue ~ but the room was so pointy and I was getting jammed in and compressed. I heard a voice telling me I had to move out. I’d run out of room. I left the dream knowing there was more star available for me. The rest of the star was in darkness and I could only map my area but I knew it was part of a much greater whole.
What’s so freaky about this dream is that Venus (aka Aphrodite) was called ‘the golden’ and she’s described as being bathed in golden light, like my dream star area appeared to me. From the Earth’s perspective, Venus the planet also creates a five-pointed star pattern in the celestial sky as it orbits the Sun every eight years, until it retrogrades and begins a new pattern. These are things I wasn’t thinking consciously about at all. But I guess our unconscious knows everything about us and all we’re capable of.
You have an entire star to inhabit too. Begin your new pattern as part of your rebirth.
Love,
Kristin xxx
