Connect Consciously
Hello,
Welcome to Aquarius season! What an energetic contrast to Capricorn. Serious winds of change are blowing in. Some light and some fierce. Already it feels intense and enlivening, even life changing. I hope for all of us this season is positively transforming.
This is the first Aquarius season with Pluto firmly in place. It’s still very, very new but we know Pluto’s presence anywhere is deeply transformative. And in Aquarius that reads utterly changemaking.
I’m so grateful you’re here and I can share this time and space with you. Years ago when I fell in love with blogs I never dreamt I’d have a place to share my thoughts and writing. Oh, how exposing! Of course I loved reading what other people had to say and I devoured the images they revealed and their words and stories. But I wasn’t brave like that. What I had to share would be too much, or felt like far from enough.
It’s why I was first drawn to Instagram. I could hide behind an image and feed off other people’s visuals and perspectives. For a word and picture junkie, it was like a shot in the arm of inspiration every day. Enabling me to gradually get confident and come up with my own words and visions. Not to mention connecting with women living worlds away and making friends, real friends that I would meet one day. It expanded my universe way beyond what I could have imagined.
And gradually the space changed, along with my relationship with it. For you too I’m guessing. We’re still in the game but our tolerance for the platform and what we’re prepared to ingest has shifted. Safety and trust for its members are obvious issues but so is our own mental health and nervous system regulation. We’re open to change and new platform possibilities but where that will be and how it will unfold is uncertain. We might have our evacuation plans in place but we’re not leaving just yet…because when we separate there will be loss. We’ll lose connection.
If this is where your head is at, you’re feeling the Aquarian shift.
Find Your People
Even if Instagram or connecting online isn’t your thing, there’s a universal knowing growing that finding like minds is where it’s at. People you resonate with consciously sharing consciousness. But I don’t mean finding minds that are just like you ~ cookie cutter versions echoing the same news.
I’m talking about finding minds that you like.
Minds with ideas that attract you, wildly inspire you, even rattle your cage. Minds that encourage you to think outside your box. On a platform or IRL. Wherever it is, we have a yearning to congregate and gather for meaningful exchange, where we feel the uplift of community and leave feeling greater rather than empty or wishing for more.
The Aquarian ideal is to bring people together, to meet from the mind and pour knowledge and consciousness into each other. Filling our mental cups with new and progressive ideas. This is how we progress.
We’re so hungry for human connection and this age keeps highlighting how essential it is to create community and be there for each other. Even if you’re not a group fun person, you want to find your people who are genuinely interested in what you have to say. Who seriously care about what you think, and you them. Who will check in on you when you’ve been quiet and not assume everything is okay.
These are the people you’ll be transforming alongside. The relationships you really want to cultivate.
Pluto in Your Aquarian House
Aquarius has a contradictory nature. While you’d think the sign of the airwaves would be open to any fresh wind coming in there are two sides to this story. We have the Aquarius enlightened by its very modern ruler, Uranus, and then the Aquarius that prefers stability and a more secure stance, that of Saturn, its traditional ruler. Two very different energies. One up for anything and one preferring to control what it knows. They coexist together. And you might find the Aquarius in you holds both archetypes too.
We can embrace difference and wave our freak flags when we like it but when a new way of being arises we hold on, gripping our known reality and sternly suggesting everything happens as we like it. In an individual this can look like forever talking about freedom for all but being dogmatic with your doctrine. Or landing a brilliant new idea and then enforcing it on everyone.
Being equal with everyone doesn’t always feel very cool…
What’s worth considering is where you sit on the spectrum ~ after all, Pluto is travelling in your Aquarian home. How open is your open-mindedness? How much of a perspective renovation are you willing to experience?
How chill are you about discoveries that might be uncomfortable?
In November last year Pluto entered Aquarius and will take roughly 19 years to move through this sign. Pluto needs time to probe and find all the things we’d rather not see. Only those that are broken though. Collectively rather than personally, that’s systems that affect people. Think climate, science, activism, social justice, technology, AI. Most definitely AI. Pluto rules banking too so we can include charities, insurance schemes and financial institutions. For all those organisations that have lost their human connection or are no longer behaving humanely, there will be exposure, breakdown and eventually renewal. (Sadly, history shows that things often have to fall apart drastically before renewal is possible.)
In Aquarius, Pluto’s focus is the future but people must be factored in ~ Aquarius is for the people and nothing without its people. Humanity will be questioned, what it’s capable of and what we’re capable of.
Personally, how we tolerate views and opinions that don’t read like ours will all be under scrutiny. The glare is likely to get intense.
Tolerance is an Aquarian trademark, when operating at its altruistic best.
When we’re operating at our best we’ll be receptive to unique perspectives. We’ll learn when to park our biases. We have biases for very good reason ~ they keep us safe ~ but sometimes they get in the way of our ability to accept and understand what we don’t know.
Over the next 19 years we might try to centre ourselves by holding on to what we know ~ an understandable, natural, human impulse. Control of our consciousness is comfortable, but as the Stoic philosophers taught us the only thing we ultimately have any control over is our individual character and how we respond and behave. We can’t control other people’s thoughts or ideologies. And nor should we. Getting on our high horses over differing opinions and perceptions won’t be worth it. You’ll probably want to get on your high horse though and that will be the ultimate test. You’ll find there are so many other positive ways you can apply your mind.
May our revolution not be righteous, cancelling each other out.
A New Moon of New Perspectives
For a New Moon to be ‘new’ the Sun and Moon must come together so closely they appear as one. That’s our identity (the Sun) and our emotionality (the Moon) completely fused and in agreement. Eyes on each other, they share an intention and a new cycle begins.
In this case the intention for the Aquarius New Moon is to shift the spiral we’re in, adjust the parameter of our thought bubble and free up space for new knowledge to land.
The idea is to be both provoked and enriched by the information we learn. Whether it’s personal insights that illuminate you or a shared discussion that inspires you. However it arrives, the effect is to expand and reorient you. Possibly leave you feeling a little vulnerable and exposed too. New intelligence can have that effect.
Pluto and Mercury so very close by are offering such penetrating insights that it might feel like too much to consume. Together they tell us all about the transformative power of information! How you centre yourself with this information is important. It will mean so much if you can stay engaged with your thought process. This intel so new that you can’t yet know how it will affect you. Follow your gut, your intuition, your leads. Be open.
We can’t control what we don’t know so let it be, just be.
Remember you have a body to lean into. If you feel overly anything, your body will tell you what it needs. Plug in with deep long breaths, hugs for yourself, writing it out, sharing your thoughts, whatever opens your mind (healthily) and gives you stability.
There’s so much help here to shift your gaze upwards. The Sun and Moon in Aquarius make it feel very natural to be who you are, thinking for yourself and thinking originally. Accessing your individuality and your independent mind. Not following the ‘group think’ herd mentality but tapping into your own zeitgeist, using your platform, your voice for good. And then seeing it spiral out. Witnessing your positive effect grow. This is the essence of Aquarius and essential for our future.
It propels us all forward.
Love,
Kristin xxx
